FORMER TEACHER, KFI SCHOOLS
10K Run

The KFI schools,
I owe you a lot.
Running is one
Of the many things I got.

It bemused me
At first to see,
Students and teachers
Running morning and eve.

What was allĀ
The fuss about?
Was just one way
To try and find out.

It took me a while
But I got the point,
There really wasn’t
One viewpoint.

Boring and mundane
It was seemingly,
But in truth it held
Many a possibility.

Physical fitness,
Stamina building,
Mental rejuvenation,
Quietly meditating.

Personal limits
Put to test,
Or a break from others
Giving things a rest.

Attend to soundsĀ
Within and without,
Or let the mind drift
And wander and doubt.

Clearly running
Offered a lot,
I thanklessly ran
And took and got.

It’s payback time
I gather now,
Relocation needs
Now more than allow.

Running for the cause
Won’t balance my debt,
Just lets me share
And give and get.

For an institution
That like running,
Sees its endeavor
Neither mundane nor boring.

Live and dynamic
Getting people to learn
The internal, the external
And not just to earn.

Moving different people
In different ways,
An education as such
Treasured always.

The KFI schools,
I owe you a lot.
Running is one
Of the many things I got.
